Thank you for using Encyclopedia: Kids Learning. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Encyclopedia: Kids Learning mobile app and the initiatehub.com website (together, the "Service"), operated by InitiateHub Ltd.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Changes to Terms
We may change, modify, or revise these Terms at any time. Material changes become effective when posted, and your continued use of the Service after the change signifies acceptance.
Our Service
Description
Encyclopedia: Kids Learning is a curated educational app for children ages 5–12. The current release ships topic articles with voiceover, paired educational video, spaced-repetition flashcards, and a behavior-reward system. The Service may evolve with new features over time.
User accounts
Encyclopedia supports an optional account using Google or Apple authentication. The account enables cross-device sync. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your authentication credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Premium features and payments
Where premium features exist, they are available through in-app purchases processed by Apple App Store, Google Play, or RevenueCat. From July 2026, an optional auto-renewing subscription unlocks the full topic library; the Animals & Creatures category (200+ topics) and all other features remain free. Paid plans begin with a 3-day free trial unless stated otherwise at purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled in your App Store or Google Play account at least 24 hours before the period ends; managing or cancelling a plan is done through the store, not in the app. By making a purchase you also agree to those providers' terms.
Copyright
If you believe content available in the Service infringes your copyright, request removal by emailing [email protected]. We will review and respond promptly.
Children and Parental Responsibility
Age requirements
Encyclopedia: Kids Learning is designed for children ages 5–12. Children under 13 must have a parent or legal guardian create and manage their account. The parent account holder is responsible for all child profiles created under their account.
Parental consent
By creating child profiles in Encyclopedia, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the parent or legal guardian of the child
- You consent to our collection and use of your child's information as described in our Privacy Policy
- You will supervise your child's use of the app as appropriate for their age
- You are responsible for ensuring your child uses the app appropriately
Parental controls
Parents can:
- Set a PIN to protect settings, account management, and purchases
- Create and manage multiple child profiles
- View each child's learning progress and activity
- Configure behavior rewards and assigned tasks
- Delete child profiles and associated data at any time
In-app purchases for children's apps
All subscription purchases and account management require parental authentication (PIN or password). Parents are responsible for any purchases made through their account. Children cannot make purchases without parental authorization.
Data and Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. Our use of your data is described in our Privacy Policy. For information specifically about how we handle children's data, see the "Children's Privacy" section there.
Restrictions
You agree not to use the Service in any manner that is illegal or harmful, and not to exploit any part of it for commercial purposes without our express written consent.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to us, other users, third parties, or for any other reason.
Refunds
All purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. To avoid being charged after a free trial, cancel before the trial ends through your store account. Refund requests must be made directly through the respective platform according to its refund policy. We do not control refunds, as transactions are managed by Apple and Google.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. You use the Service at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, InitiateHub Ltd, its directors, employees, partners, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, use, or goodwill, resulting from:
- Your use or inability to use the Service
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or any personal information stored therein
- Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service
- Any bugs, viruses, or harmful code transmitted by a third party through the Service
- Any errors or omissions in any content
In no event shall InitiateHub Ltd's total liability for all damages, losses, and causes of action exceed the amount you have paid us in the last twelve (12) months, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless InitiateHub Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or connected with: your access to or use of the Service; your violation of these Terms; your violation of any third-party right; or any claim that your content caused damage to a third party.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so the remaining Terms remain in full force and effect.
